A small domestic job in a new-build yesterday.
Task 1:
Take down 3-spot fitting and install new 3 pendant affair.
Task 2.
Take down another 3-spot thingy, and fit a simple pendant.
What could possibly go wrong?
Task 1:
Where is the switch for this light?
Just this one here.
oh, any other switches for this one?
No.
oh joy!
Light on, breaker off, all good...
fitting off and what have we here?
More joy! One T&E into a choc-block, all 3 present, cpc sleeved...
Looked at new fitting...it's a 3 pendant drop from a metal box-section, box has eastern squiggles on the side...
turns out to be a very well-made fitting with decent cables, and easy to configure...2 five way Wagos, drill 2 holes in ceiling all fine...and for once I feel it was 100%. However, she wanted the roof-bar centered over a radiator...I said, it'll leave a couple of holes in the ceiling...no problem, the decorator is coming next week and he said he will fill and paint, so crack on.
Task 2:
"Don't do that now, bacon roll and coffee ready"
I looked at the pretty lady and thought "this can't be real"
Took down the second fitting...yup, T&E feed...fitted a pendant with plate, 2 minutes, all good. (Incidentally, it's bludi hard to get a ES pendant round here so this was a BC one...but it came with a bit of brown sleeving and a length of g/y too, in the bag, so that was a nice touch)
2 tasks done, both easy, lovely client fed me...and i was home for lunch...
Sometimes, the sun just shines!
I know this bit is off-piste, but per another thread, if you really want a blanking plate that fits inside a standard metal back box, the Axion range does that.
