there is a valid reason for the change from "safe" to "prescribed". plumbers were getting wise to safe, so were managing to miss cables 50%. now it's called prescribed, plumbers don't have a clue what it means ( more than 1 syllable), so they can manage a 80% cable drilling target.

Bit of commonsense though...
but why are people so afraid of cutting into plasterboard?
Can't see into ceiling void?
Cut a hatch! Fill it with a custom plastic hinged lid/access panel...or just patch it in, using the bit you cut out...
OK, it seems messy, but it saves hours/£££s and if you have a friendly plasterer he will sort it in minutes.

what the f***k is a friendly plasterer. is it one that can skim a wall without burying your boxes in rubbish?

Yes, I believe that is exactly what a friendly plasterer is...and you can call on him, rely on him, and if you pay him properly he will get your arse out of the rubbish!
Sadly, few and far between...so I take your point, Tel...

No such thing as a friendly Plasterer, spread the pink stuff on the wall and sod anyone or anything that gets in the way, am I right?

No, this time, sadly not...I have a friendly plasterer who covers all my mistakes, properly...
I also know a plasterer who covers the walls, ceilings and floor as he sloshes his stuff all over the place...he's a dick-head, to be fair!
Doesn't even cover the floor, or other trade's tools with a dustsheet...just turns up, late, splashes his carp everywhere, demands cash, and feks off...
He's quick, and good at doing the job, but he's a nightmare and I don't use him ever, these days.
