Or perhaps it's just been kept for show.Maybe 'whoever' should have changed that beauty when they carried out the rewire........60 or 70 years ago.
Are they actually prohibited even if fitted when they were allowed, or prohibited to be fitted ?
OMG Paul, great photo.Nope..... That is not how you feed power to the garage mate.

...bet my bottom dollar that the socket was there firstJust spotted this on Homes Under the hammer. The mind boggles!
Maybe your apprentices will notice the actual wiring connections.OMG Paul, great photo.
Leaving the top/left hole open to IP is ridicules… there’s 4xFixing positions.! So USE them.
Over use of open grommets is a Waste of products.
The only thing missing is a ‘Hair Clip’ or 6” nail.
Luv these pics to show my apprentices.
Wow, that is running a little too warm!
Last seen May 27th 2018who is Paul M?
Similar one at my parents, though it is fed in T&E from around 1970 but switch predated that by some decades.
OK I will bite, what are those grey oblong terminal blocks above the RCBO's, not part of them as they don't line up, been out of the game for a while, I know the orange thing on the right, but those blocks are a new one on me.
I thought that, but the don't line through, so must be a separate unit? Looking again the top part is stepped back from the lower part so could be an optical illusion.Aren't they just tall RCBOs?
Optical illusion.I thought that, but the don't line through, so must be a separate unit? Looking again the top part is stepped back from the lower part so could be an optical illusion.
I resemble that remark.Optical illusion.
Slight angle from centre of the photo.
You live and learn, eh.

May have been a flash advertI thought that, but the don't line through, so must be a separate unit? Looking again the top part is stepped back from the lower part so could be an optical illusion.
Hell, I can go into any farm cottage around here and see similar, if not worse.
I agree about farm properties, I seem to be spending a lot of time moving between them in Wales at the moment.Hell, I can go into any farm cottage around here and see similar, if not worse.
I have a strange fondness for the East End as I've seen more of it than many have. I used to cycle from Leyton to near Orchard Street W1 on a daily basis. Nicest in the summer when Victoria Park was open until dusk. I started during the fuel strikes, and liked it so much I kept going when the cars returned. I kept it up for about 3 years until I came too close to death on Old Street roundabout for the 3rd time and figured the tube had some benefits, like increased life expectancy! Before anyone has a go about predigest I was born within the sound of Bow Bells which are in St Mary Le Bow church in Cheapside near St Pauls so more the City of London that the east end.
Always good to have spares
Staring through a ladies window in the middle of the night will cause you to go blind@timhoward Brings back teenage memories of hitchhiking through the Blackwall tunnel to see a certain young lady who lived in Dalston
