Discuss Good Morning Thread - Come say good morning, tell us what you've got on today. :) in the The Electrical Exchange area at ElectriciansForums.net

We have this thread on TilersForums.com and it's just been restarted because the old thread had 20,000 replies and 500,000 views. And there were 700 pages. Started to lag a bit on slow connections.

I think we had a bash of this before, but I can't find the thread, so thought I'd start another one off.

If you have time in the mornings, come post in the thread before you head off to work, let us know what you've got on and what the weather is like in your area etc. Anything at all is fine. :)

Posts and likes get counted towards your total stats in this thread.

So GOOOD MORNING PEOPLE - WEATHER IS NICE TODAY IN STOKE. I'M THANKFUL IT'S FRIDAY, HAD A RUBBISH WEEK. THANK GOD IT'S OVER.

Thanks mate I'll take a look. I have some from Amazon, but when the kettle boils near them, they detach from each other and one cuts out. Starting to wonder why I got something I use daily off of Amazon. Was asking for it really. lol

nothing to get steamed up about. :p :p :p

Free hair cut this morning at the local hair training college , lovely girl who took her time and did a very decent job in only her second year...

Currently trying to get six firework displays loaded in to vans, crews organised, briefed and despatched to their various jobs.

Then later I'll be setting up/supervising one of those six displays.

After that the real fun starts, packing it all up and unloading six vans full of dirty smelly equipment, cleaning it and putting it away.

If we could just move firework season into the summer months it would make it a lot nicer!

Just did DGA and moisture tests on four transformer oil samples. The rest of the day is free :)

Up to my neck working through the pile of quotations and certificates that have accumulated on my desk. Been at it since 10 am and still not finished. I hate paperwork.:(

I've been to the dentists this afternoon, and I've read its going to chuck it down tomorrow. Which is a shame cos I'm on call, and work place leaks like a 'bad word'!

morning has gone, so has the afternnon. nows evening, sirloin steak and chips washed down with real ale, documentary channel on TV. bed about 9pm. lie in tomorrow till 10am, boring maybe, but relaxing.

Been a busy day today running errands and stuff. Tomorrow going up to York to see my stepmum.

Nipped up the A3 to Sandown Park, bacon butty and peruse round Elex. 1pm pub lunch then picked myself up an old Renault Kangoo van so I can finally have an official tip for all my kit.

I was tied up in meetings most of the day, I've won a contract for a string of care homes so been dealing with that along with a couple of commercial and industrial rewires.
Today got a cheeky lay in while 8.
My morning will consist of copious amounts of coffee and I just need nip out to my sister's pet shop to stock up on goodies for Jack.
A couple of contracts to read through and then chill out for the rest of the weekend.

you could always give yourself a ban for a month. :p :p :p
Tried find a rule that stipulated that and can't so I'd only end up then bitching about it on Facebook. Best keep me here so I don't be troublesome when I come back off my ban and stuff. ;) ;)

Good morning everyone.
Had a proper lie in.... was almost 9 I got up... and that was just because my wifes mother phoned the house.
Hopefully picking up the new van today. Got one same model as I had, but a little bit newer... so the garage is swapping over my tow bar and getting a few niggles sorted (it was missing a rear parking sensor, but they'll just steal one from my old van)
Spend the rest of the weekend fitting out the back with my ply shelving.
Movie and pizza night tonight I think... because the child that doesn't like pizza is at a friends....

Did somebody say Just Eat?
No.... what a stupid advert!

This morning boxing up my Ebay orders ready to post while trying to watch the kids at the same time (wife is at work)

Up to assess repair possibilities,on one 09 civic, one K2 muck spreader, three cable trackers and geny...then off to mcr, treat No. son to new suit (he was starting to look a bit Lee Evans) then he's off to donate blood and i just watch?

Good Morning People. :(

It's bloody Monday again god damn it.

Raining here in Stoke. Kinda glad, we burnt a lot of wood in the garden last night and I needed it to drizzle on it as the stones I put around the edge of the fire were boiling the water I was throwing at it. I gave up in the end. Christ knows how hot they still were but I was worried the dogs would run over them today.

They're definitely wet and cold again now. lol

What have you guys got on today / this week?

I feel poorly ????

Quiet day for me today. The local Ford dealer have told me my van is ready to pick up (Transit Custom with the current run of injector problems that all Transits are getting) so after 3 weeks I get my own van back. Other than that I'm on call today so should be sat on my arse at home getting full pay :)

Get in! Play day at home lol

:)

Doubt if there will be much play involved. She who must be obeyed already has a few jobs lined up for me :-(

Good morning all. Busy day for us today! Anyone have any snow overnight?

SNOW! ffs, don’t tell my wife. She’ll be wanting the deco’s up.

Speaking of which... first job today is fairy lights up a tree!

Tomorrow is a paperwork day. Van going in to get signwriting.... signwritten??

No snow but a little crispy around the edges.
Playing kitchen installer today, looking forward to drilling holes in cables I installed in safe zones last week ... hopefully not :) .

Well today we are working on the forums and we were going to go out for a bike ride later but it is freezing and blowing a gale and I swear it is going to snow.

There’s that “S” word again.
This is Britain.... it doesn’t snow here.... not the nice fluffy white stuff.
We get rain.... cold rain..... then horizontal rain.
Snow is just slush waiting to happen.

I changed my profile pic again this morning. Why does it take so long to change?
My poppy pic didn’t fully change until after 11 on the 11th. A tad late;)

Snowed here yesterday evening. Within 1/2 hour my car went from being dark grey to white. The van was already white ;)

Morning guys and gals. It's Friday!

Woohooooo

Hope everybody is finishing up today for a good couple of days off. @Lou and I are winding down the week by sorting through prizes for the Christmas calendar comp. The plumbing sponsors have sent thousands of pounds worth of pumps and test equipment and tool bags and all sorts. We have to post this out every day. Christ that's gonna cost a bomb.

Might post them all first week of Jan in one go to save keep running to post office over the busiest month of the year.

EF and TF sponsors have been asked to post direct themselves to save us time and money. We didn't think this through well lol :D

What’s going to happen, @Dan if one of our international forum members wins a prize??
Will you be sending a 230v product that may be of no use to somebody with 110v main supply, or indeed be forking out in postage to Australia for a tool bag?
;)

We have good connections. Our first TilersForums.com Job Of The Year award was a tonne pallet of tile adhesive and a guy won it in Southern Ireland (south southern too). We sent it via the distribution chain already in place.

If we need to get something the other side of the world, we will probably just get them to get a local one from somewhere, and reimburse the supplier via their existing channels. Makes more sense.

The kinda stuff we are sending out are mainly available globally.

And the struggle of sending something rare gives us content to blog about and follow and mention all those involved. Free plugs for them.

I'm not bothered one bit about somebody winning anything south of the moon. :)
