Maintenance replacements and Type AC RCDs

Morning all.
What’s your feelings now in 2024 with maintenance replacement of say an extractor fan or similar in a domestic setting where the system has 30mA RCD/RCBO AC protection. The old saying was ‘like for like wherever you like’ but now. Would you Maintance replace and upgrade the RCBO/RCD? Your opinion based on regs would be very appreciated TIA. David.

Just test the RCD and if working then do the usual like-for-like swap.

The use of type AC where type A should be used now is normally a C3 code on EICR (page 19 of Best Practice Guide #4 issue 7)
